Took a cab to Little Tokyo on Saturday night, walked around a lot and had delicious ramen:

That’s it! Sorry my posts are so sparse and short lately. I’m so busy doing con stuff. San Japan this weekend! =)

I also updated the store page with some of the new merchandise. There are a few new letter and tabloid-size prints as well as bookmarks at the bottom of their respective pages. I might be adding some badges and buttons soon, now that I have original designs to sell =)

Sorry as usual for the lack of updates. The weeks leading up to ACen were a bit crazy, what with final exams/projects and all. But for now I’m free from school! Free to draw and prepare for A-Kon in a couple weeks, lol orz

Anyway, the convention was a lot of fun. Despite the long trip, expensive hotel, and not really knowing a lot of people, I’m very glad I decided to go. I met lots of new people, spent entirely too much in the Dealer’s Room, and got a good response about my art from customers! I’ll definitely consider going back next year if I can manage it.

Anyways, here are some pictures!

Random shot of the Convention Hall. The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center is by far the largest venue I’ve ever attended a convention at. The place where A-Kon is held might be about the same, but it’s split onto several levels. At ACen registration, the Artists Alley, Art Show, Exhibitor’s Hall/Dealer’s Room and a bunch of other stuff were all in this one huge hall, and that was only part of the whole center. There were panels and gaming and stuff happening in at least 3 of the surrounding hotels, wow! It really felt like there was a lot more to do at this con than at the others I’ve been to.

I did two sketch commissions =)

GwydionAE made these amazingly unique and adorable foam pins of my OCs. My picture sucks so see the ones she took here and here! She has a web site and a photobucket account full of other examples to check out. Totally worth commissioning =D

(Click to enlarge) And the rest of my swag! I was so psyched to find that Kantoku artbook at the Kinokuniya booth. I’ve always wanted to get my grubby hands on some Kantoku smex! There’s also the Tony Taka artbook which was WAY cheaper than the price I saw it being sold for at YuleCon, some doujins, the pixiv girls’ collection books (<3), a K-ON! print by Moorina. I also traded with her for some stickers of Mio and Kagami, but I forgot to put them in the picture, d’oh! Also a book of awesome Korean art, one of Noizi Ito/Fujitsubo-machine’s books that I didn’t already have (it’s got lots of sketches and stuff I’ve never seen before, awesome), and a couple of other books I got either because I love the artist or because they were just awesome deals. I think this Dealer’s Room was by far the most exciting I’ve been to =)

Thanks so much to my mom for driving most of the trip, to Sammie for being such an indescribably huge help running the table, and to all the staff, customers, and fellow artists who made the con a great experience!
